RATIONALE OF HAVING FRIENDS OF NMT

NMT aims at bringing diverse friend groups together to share good practice and experience, improve understanding between professionals and friends by involvement professional organisations such as the regional museums, libraries and archives, research and learning institutions.

The friends of NMT will also include dignitaries (such as retired presidents, prime ministers etc), students associations and groups, diverse public community like artists as well as interested general public.

SCOPE OF FRIENDS OF MUSEUM

The establishment of Friends of Museum will be of institutional and will cover all museum branches and sites and monuments under the NMT. Membership will be open to any individual or institution within or outside Tanzania interesting in advancing the objectives of the institution.

OBJECTIVES OF FRIENDS OF MUSEUM

The objectives of having friends of NMT will be;

1. To raise public awareness about the NMT activities
2. Enhance public involvement and support to the NMT
3. To assist in the sustained development of the NMT and promote its welfare from within and outside Tanzania
4. To raise funds required in helping to execute NMT activities
