William V. Gatambi is the Public Relations Manager responsible for developing marketing communications which include strategy, goals, budget and tactics. He is also responsible for developing media relations strategy with the aim of seeking high-level placement in print, broadcast and online media. He directs social media team to engage audiences across traditional and new media apart from managing media inquiries and interview requests.
Qualifications: William V. Gatambi is professional in Public Relations. He holds a Bachelor of Mass Communication from St. Augustine University of Tanzania and Masters of Business Administration in International Business from Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) in collaboration with the Institute of Finance Management (IFM). He has also diploma in Philosophy and Theology from Ntungamo Major Seminary and Kipalapala Senior Seminary, respectively. He attended other professional training programmes which includes Teaching Methodologies in Science Subjects, Advanced Presentation Skills, and Corporate Reputation Assurance: The Public Relations Challenges. Other training programmes that he attended includes Overview of PPA 2004 and its Regulations: Introduction to Procurement of Works, Introduction of Procurement of Non-Consultancy Services; Introduction to Procurement of Consultancy Services, Introduction to Disposal of Public Assets by Tender. He also attended short courses in Community Sensitization on Land Compensation and Land Use, Applied Communication and PR Programme, Graphic Design, Development of Risk Management Framework, Leadership and Behavioral Change Management. Mr. Gatambi is currently pursuing a PhD programme in Mass Communication at St. Augustine University of Tanzania on part-time basis.
Work Experience: William V. Gatambi has 19 years of experience in managing public relations in different government institutions. He joined DART Agency in May 2008 as Public Relations Manager. Prior to joining DART Agency, Mr. Gatambi worked with the Institute of Finance Management where he served as Senior Public Relations for four and half years. While at IFM, he initiated a production of a quarterly newsletter and a weekly radio programme dubbed ‘Jiunge na IFM’ with the then Radio Tanzania as his brainchild. Mr. Gatambi also worked with Star TV as Chief News Editor until he joined IFM in 2004.
