The Government of Tanzania has secured funds from the International Development Association (IDA) under World Bank towards the implementation of Dar es Salaam Urban Transport Improvement Project (DUTP) and intends to use part of the proceeds of this credit to cover eligible expenses under the contract for constructions of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system, phase three of DART project. This project is subdivided in two Lots: Lot 1 deals with Road works and Lot 2 deals with Building works. Supervising consultants are M/s SMEC International (Pty) Ltd in Association with M/s Mhandisi Consultancy Ltd and M/s Habconsult Ltd for road works and UNITEC Civil Consultants Ltd for Building works. The contractor for lot 1 is M/s Sinohydro construction corporation from China who started on 1st August, 2022 therefore right now they are under mobilization period. For the second lot the tender is being finalized before it is advertised.
