Market Sounding Event: Development of student hostels for College of Business Administration (CBE)
The College of Business Education (CBE) in collaboration with the Public-Private Partnership Centre (PPPC), is excited to announce its upcoming market-sounding event for the development of new students' hostels on its Dar es Salaam campus. This transformative project aims to significantly increase the provision of accommodation services, raising it from the current 1.34% to an impressive 30%.
The Dar es Salaam campus has a total of 11,924 enrolled students. However, it faces a severe shortage for students’ housing as the current capacity is at 1.34% coverage (160 beds). This shortfall not only creates significant logistical challenges for off-campus students but also impedes their academic performance and overall well-being. The need for additional on-campus housing is urgent and of primary importance to our institution’s mission to provide a conducive learning environment.
To address this pressing issue, the College is planning to develop additional four buildings with five floors each. The new facilities are estimated to cost TZS 20.7 Bil ($7.7 Mil) for construction and are expected to accommodate around 2724 new students aside from 160 covered. The proposed PPP model for this project is Design, Build, Finance, Operate, Maintain, and Transfer (DBFOMT).
Therefore, CBE is actively seeking potential developers, financiers, insurance companies, real estate service providers, construction engineers, and other interested parties to partner with under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement to ensure the successful execution of this project.
