The Road Traffic (Periodical Mandatory Vehicle Inspection) Regulations GN. 29 of 2015 empowers the Minister of Home Affairs to establish, approve, or designate Motor vehicle inspection centers. The inspection centers shall ensure all vehicles are roadworthy and certified to be fit for road use in accordance with the Laws and regulations. To ensure effective inspection, the Tanzania Police Force Corporation Sole (TPFCS) intends to establish an efficient and technologically advanced Motor Vehicle Inspection (MVI) systems that aims to enhance road safety by enforcing safety standards through inspection of vehicles in Tanzania Mainland.
