Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC) is intending to distribute natural gas to households, industries, institutions and vehicles (in Dar es Salaam, Mtwara and Lindi Regions) through Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement. TPDC is proposing to enter into Concession Agreement with the private sector who will finance, design, construct, operate (distribute natural gas to end users) and maintain the infrastructures for a term of 25 years and the project infrastructures be handback to TPDC after the concession period.

It is further proposed that TPDC will have 15% non-contributory preferential shareholding in each SPV based on the essence that TPDC is sharing its exclusivity right with the investor (s) in natural gas downstream value chain.
