Idara ya kumbukumbu za kitabibu na taarifa za afya (medical records) ilianzishwa tarehe 13/10/2015 wakati hospitali ilipoanza kutoa huduma na ilianza na watumishi wanne.
Wakati huo idara ilikuwa ikitumia mfumo wa kufungulia mafaili wagonjwa ili waweze kupata matibabu na pia kutoa taarifa za wagonjwa waliohudumiwa kwa siku na mwezi.
Idara inatoa huduma ya kuandikisha wagonjwa, kuandaa taarifa za wagonjwa wa nje na waliolazwa, kulaza wagonjwa, kuomba vibali ya vipimo maalum pamoja na huduma maalum, kukagua kadi za bima na kujaza fomu za bima na pia kuonganisha wagonjwa na kliniki mbalimbali.
Idara ilipoanza ilikuwa ikihudumia wagonjwa 20 kwa siku lakini sasa idara inahudumia wagonjwa 800 hadi 900 kwa siku na kulaza wagonjwa 40 hadi 50 kwa siku.
Mpaka sasa idara ina watumishi 17 ambapo watumishi 7 wameajiriwa, watumishi watano ni wa mkataba na watano wakujitolea.
The Benjamin Mkapa Medical Records Department is to maintain clear and complete medical record on every patient who visiting the hospital, admitted and discharged from the hospital, who was treated in the Emergency Department or ambulatory care units. The information is gathered from each patient encounter and is retrieved whenever necessary to enhance patient care. Furthermore, the Medical Records Department is committed to assist the medical staff and other health care professionals of the Medical Center in their duties and responsibilities to maintain timely completion and proper documentation of the patient care in the medical record.
Services
- Receiving the Patient either a Follow- up or New case patient
- Record the patient information to the computer system.
- If possible take care the manual file of the patient
- Direct the Patient which clinic to attend.
- Admit patient to the ward.
- Retrieve information of patient if requested
