The Renal Replacement Therapy (RRT) unit offers a range of medical treatments used to replace the normal function of the kidneys when they can no longer work effectively on their own due to kidney failure. The primary role of our RRT team aims to provide services that mimic the filtration process, manage electrolyte balance, and remove excess fluid. The hospital is equipped and dedicated to offer comprehensive and multidisplinary RRT services
Hemodialysis (HD): The hospital provide Hemodialysis to day care and inpatients, our dedicated team provides compassionate care to all patients coming to our unit. We are able to dalyse 40patient at a time. Each year we serve over a thousand of patients
Kidney Transplant: our unit coordinate all the processes involved during pre and post transplant period. The higly trained and skilled transplant team replaces the diseased kidney with a healthy one from a donor. A successful transplant can eliminate the need for dialysis.Indications for Renal Replacement Therapy at BanH is not limited to:-

- Chronic kidney disease (CKD) progressing to end-stage renal disease (ESRD).
- Acute kidney injury (AKI) where the kidneys suddenly stop working.
- Conditions such as severe electrolyte imbalances, fluid overload, and toxin accumulation that threaten the patient’s life.
Our team is motivated to ensure the Goals of Renal Replacement Therapysuch as to Remove waste products (e.g., urea, creatinine) from the blood, Maintain safe levels of electrolytes like potassium, sodium, and calcium, Regulate fluid balance to prevent excess fluid buildup, and Stabilize the patient until kidney function can be restored (in cases of acute failure) or provide long-term replacement (in chronic failure).
To date we have trabsplated over 59patients and we are proud of a Tokushikai, UDOM and BMH collaboration thas is visoned to have a center of excellency in Kidney transplant services in Africa.
