Mandate

The Tax Ombudsman is an independent and impartial officer who will operate Tax Ombudsman office at arm's length from the Ministry of Finance and Planning and report to the Minister for Finance and Planning. The Tax Ombudsman will be charged with reviewing service-related complaints about Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) and upholding the Taxpayer’s Service Charter as set by TRA with regard to service matters. The Ombudsman will be the final level of review in the TRA complaint resolution process
