The Tax Ombudsman Office of Tanzania (TOST) is an independent government entity established under Section 28A of the Tax Administration Act, Cap 438 in 2019.  The office operates with full legal mandate in redressing maladministration pertaining to procedural, service and administrative matters committed by the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) while administering tax laws. Complainants may use identified means of communication to reach our office for services required.

The office is located at Mtumba (Mji wa Serikali) in Dodoma. We are highly enabled by technology to be easily accessed for services online; through direct calls by Toll free numbers 0800111022  And 0808110100; emails service@tos.go.tz , and through walk-in.

The Tax Ombudsman Office is committed to discharge services at the world-class standards and intends to achieve the contemplated balance in the Tax Administration System which is attributed to powers and duties of TRA on one hand and the Taxpayers’ rights and obligations on the other.
